How You Can Help

We are working hard to maximize the percentage of profit from your order that goes directly to the scholarship fund. The Board of Directors are unpaid volunteers who have agreed to assist because they believe in the project and the importance of supporting educational opportunities in the developing world. As such, we do not have the economic flexibility to develop complex and costly marketing materials to promote our foundation. If you would like to help us, here is a list of our ideas, or you can email us with additional ideas:

Publicity and marketing

We are always looking for ways to spread our message to a larger audience to help us offer more scholarships and services within Honduras. We are willing to send you additional information, digital files of photos, or anything else you would like. Email us for more information. Here is a list of other ideas:

  • Promote our website by linking our web page to your s or sending our web site address to your friends.  Our web page address is http://www.CoffeeExchange.Org/
  • Serve our coffee at your next book club, dinner party, or other social function
  • Give our coffee as a gift and talk about our project
  • Donate a pound of our coffee to your work and leave information about our foundation and our web site next to the coffee machine

Support our scholarship recipients

We believe in helping communities through sustainable projects and community development. As such, we do not accept material donations for specific children because we do not want them to be perceived as privileged. Instead, if you would like to make a material donation, we ask for donations to benefit the entire community. We believe the success of our scholarship recipients is directly affected and supported by the condition of their larger community, and that this is where donations will be most effective. However, we do encourage you to write supportive notes to our scholarship recipients. We will be happy to translate and pass on any notes you send us.

Below is a list of appropriate ideas for donations:

  • Materials for the grade school, community councils, or church
  • Soccer balls and other sporting equipment
  • Indoor activities for after school programs
  • Books in Spanish
  • Materials from our school supplies list which will help us to keep our costs down
